United Kingdom Family Visa

If you are Permanent Resident or a Citizen of United Kingdom, then you are eligible to sponsor your rest of the family members to visit, join and live with you in the UK. There are various visa options under family stream which are as follows:

Visa for a Partner

Spouse (partner) visas agree to spouses, unmarried and fiancées either an opposite or same-sex partner of UK citizens or Permanent Residents to come and live with their family in the UK. To meet the criteria for a Partner visa, Applicants must be an eligible partner of a UK citizen or permanent resident who is currently living or who intends to live permanently in the UK.

Condition to be Eligible:

  • Spouse ( Wife, husband or a social partner); otherwise
  • Unmarried or same-sex partner; or
  • Fiancée or future social partner.

  • Under Partner visa, applicants are usually required to be of a

  • Minimum age,
  • Meet English language,
  • Accommodation and
  • Maintenance (funds) requirements

It is also confirmed that their relationship is presented and authentic (real) in nature. A Partner visa is usually granted for an initial conditional period, depending on the type of relationship. Partner visa applicants may also be required to meet optimistic fitness and character requirements.

There are different criteria’s for different type of partners which are as follows:

A. Spouse: 33 months before applying for further leave to remain for a further 30 months. After 5 years, they can apply for indefinite leave to remain.

B. Fiancé (e) or planned social partner: 6 months during which the applicant must marry or undertake a Civil Partnership Registration with their partner. After the ceremony, an application for a Partner visa as a Spouse can be made. This visa type does not entitle the holder to work in the UK.

C. Unmarried or same-sex partner: 33 months before applying for further leave to remain for a further 30 months. After 5 years, they can apply for indefinite leave to remain. Note: Less than 18 years of age dependent and unmarried children may be included on the visa application to accompany their parent/s to the United Kingdom.
